10000 years of calendar in a single Sheet?

Ever  wondered to have a single sheet that holds 10000 years of calendar... Here it is

The history of calendars spans several thousand years, and there are over dozen different types of them ranging from Lunar Calendar referred as the oldest to the Gregorian or Modern calendar. Its interesting to learn about the eveolution of calendars. I would recommend reading this wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_calendars

Being very close to the dawn of the year 2015, I decided to share an interesting calendar which one of my colleague designed few years ago. I was amazed seeing his work. He compressed a century worth of data into a single page!!!

Do you wish to find which day you where born? Here we go, its easy and just 3 steps away. The calendar consist of 6 tables. Century, Year, Months, Weeks Days and a  Special Code Table.

Assume I want to find the week of the day on 28 March 1988,

Step 1: Consider 2 axis, i.e. Century and Year. Map the CENTURYaxis and YEAR  axis to find the Special Code they coincide. We got "F"

Step 2: Check that’s a leap year(if the year is followed by "L" that denotes it’s a leap year). If yes look up the month under LEAP YEARcolumn or else lookup the REGULAR column . 1988 is a leap year.

Step 3: This time consider 3 axis i.e. Month, Code (we got in Step 1) and Day. Map all the 3 to the Weeks Table and find where they coincide. There you go, its a Monday.

Do share this article if you like...

Note: - All credits to my friend Sivasankar, I just blew it up with my Photoshop skills :) it . Let me know if you need a PSD version of the  calendar, I'll be glad to share.
